Registration Manager, EMEA
At Clarion, our people are at the absolute heart of what we do. We’re proud that our core values of PASSION, CARE, IMAGINATION, and TRUST define the way we carry out our work across all of our teams.
If you share our values and want to be a part of a successful, dynamic, and creative global business then we want to hear from you.
The Opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced, commercially minded Registration Manager to own and elevate the end-to-end event registration experience across the EMEA portfolio. This is a pivotal role sitting at the intersection of technology, customer experience, and operational delivery.
As a global leader in trade event organisation, we host a diverse range of exhibitions, confexes and conferences, spanning multiple sectors and attendee groups, from exhibitors and visitors to speakers, sponsors, and VIPs. Registration is the gateway to every one of these events, and this role is responsible for making that gateway as seamless, intelligent, and on-brand as possible.
You will be the central point of expertise and accountability for registration across the business, partnering with multiple event portfolio teams, leading the relationship with our external registration technology partner, and managing a small team of Registration Executives to deliver tailored experiences for every audience.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who brings deep knowledge of event registration technology, a passion for customer journey design, and the project management rigour to run multiple live builds simultaneously, all without dropping the ball on quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Customer Journey Design
Lead the strategic development of registration processes across all event formats, with a focus on creating intuitive, frictionless customer journeys for all audience types — including visitors, delegates, exhibitors, speakers, sponsors, and VIP.
Define and implement best-practice registration frameworks that can be standardised across different portfolios while accommodating the individual requirements of each event.
Champion the customer experience at every stage of the registration funnel, from initial data capture through to product selection and post-registration upsell opportunities.
Identify opportunities to optimise conversion rates, reduce drop-off, and improve data quality through continuous testing and iteration.
Stakeholder & Partner Management
Act as the primary liaison between internal event teams and the external registration technology partner, managing the briefing, build, review, and sign-off process for every event in the calendar.
Lead initial briefing sessions with event teams to capture requirements, including audience segmentation, data fields, pricing tiers, discount codes, access control rules, and brand guidelines.
Translate complex event requirements into clear, actionable briefs for the registration partner to build against, ensuring accuracy and completeness before development begins.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across multiple portfolios, acting as a trusted advisor on registration strategy and best practice.
Manage escalations effectively and provide timely, solution-focused responses to registration-related issues raised by event teams or customers.
Project Management & Delivery
Manage the end-to-end delivery of registration websites across a concurrent pipeline of events, maintaining clear project timelines, milestones, and accountability across all parties.
Own and maintain a master registration development schedule across the EMEA region, ensuring all builds are progressing to plan and surfacing risks or delays early.
Lead the quality assurance process for all registration builds, designing test scripts, coordinating UAT with event teams, and sign-off against agreed criteria before each platform goes live.
Conduct post-event reviews for each registration cycle, capturing learnings and feeding them back into process improvements for future events.
Data, Reporting & Technology
Ensure all registration websites are built in compliance with GDPR and relevant data privacy regulations, working alongside legal and compliance teams where required.
Own the data architecture of registration builds, defining and governing field sets, question structures, and data standards to ensure consistency and maximise its strategic value for marketing, sales, and analytics.
Produce and interpret registration performance reports across the EMEA region, presenting insights to senior stakeholders and recommending actions to improve outcomes.
Stay current with developments in the registration technology landscape, proactively identifying new features, tools, or integrations that could enhance the experience or streamline delivery.
Manage the relationship with the registration technology partner from a commercial and performance perspective, including contribution to contract or SLA reviews.
Team Leadership
Line manage and develop a small team of Registration Executives, providing clear direction, regular feedback, and development opportunities.
Allocate workload across the team effectively, balancing capacity against the event timelines and ensuring quality is maintained under pressure.
Act as an escalation point and mentor for executives, supporting their growth in areas including platform management, stakeholder communication, and QA best practice.
Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:
5+ years of experience in event registration management, ideally within a B2B trade shows, exhibitions, or multi-event portfolio environment.
Demonstrable experience managing complex, multi-audience registration builds across a concurrent pipeline of events.
Proficiency with event registration platforms, including hands-on configuration experience.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple competing deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously.
Experience briefing and managing third-party technology or service partners, including QA and sign-off processes.
Excellent working knowledge of customer journey design principles and UX best practice as applied to online registration flows.
Solid understanding of GDPR and data management responsibilities within the context of event registration.
Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for data management, reporting, and analysis.
Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, able to translate technical requirements into plain language and vice versa.
Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and a track record of delivering to a high standard under pressure.
Experience managing or mentoring junior team members.
Familiarity with CRM systems and how registration data integrates with broader marketing and sales technology stacks.
Exposure to onsite badging and access control technologies.
